The official trailers
Confirmed Rockstar has released official Grand Theft Auto VI trailers, the first of which introduced the State of Leonida, Vice City and the two protagonists, Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval. These trailers are the single most reliable source we have: every load-bearing fact on this site, the setting, the leads, the tone, comes from this official footage rather than from leaks. Since then Rockstar has added more official footage. Below is what each release added for players, in date order.
- Trailer 1 (December 2023): Leonida, Vice City, Lucia and Jason.
- Trailer 2 (May 2025): Jason's side of the story, plus the six regions on Rockstar's official site: Vice City, the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga National Park (Rockstar Games).
- An Extended Look (27 August 2026): roughly 30 minutes of in-game footage captured on PS5, premiered on Netflix and later posted on Rockstar's YouTube channel (Rockstar Newswire). It showed character switching mid-mission, the six-star wanted system, disguises, store robberies and activities such as airboats and kayaking. Our mission-focused recap covers it in detail.
- Launch Trailer (15 October 2026): a story-led trailer focused on Jason and Lucia, captured on PS5 (Rockstar Games, gHacks).

Confirmed The confirmed facts Rockstar has stated so far:
- Platforms: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only, a console-first launch with no announced PS4, Xbox One or PC version.
- Release date: GTA 6 releases on 19 November 2026, confirmed by Rockstar for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
- Setting: the State of Leonida, a fictional Florida, with Vice City as its main city.
- Protagonists: Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval, two playable leads you switch between.
- Publisher: developed and published by Rockstar Games.
- 24 June 2026, pre-orders and prices: pre-orders opened 25 June; $79.99 standard, $99.99 Ultimate Edition in the US; pre-load from 12 November 2026 (Take-Two).
- 27 August 2026, An Extended Look: premiered on Netflix at 3pm ET, then on YouTube and the official site at 9pm ET.
- 15 October 2026, Launch Trailer: released on Rockstar's channels about five weeks before launch.

- An Extended Look, looking back: before 27 August we listed the broadcast as confirmed but its contents as unknown. It turned out to be gameplay, not a map reveal: Rockstar did not publish a full official map, and the release date stayed 19 November 2026.
Rumour watch
Unconfirmed This is where the unconfirmed material is quarantined. Supposed reveal dates, "leaked" trailer descriptions, datamined features and unverified feature claims are tracked here and never treated as fact. Common entries in this column include a leaked five-chapter story structure, mission and vehicle counts, a Jason "focus mode," a relationship meter, a PC release window and an install size. An item moves out of rumour watch and into the confirmed log only when Rockstar officially confirms it. Nothing skips that step.
The CYBERLEEK leak, 18 August 2026. Unconfirmed Clips of alleged GTA 6 gameplay and an image presented as the full Leonida map spread online under this name, with more material over the following days. Take-Two filed DMCA takedown notices against videos carrying the gameplay, which is why the press treats those clips as probably genuine. Rockstar has confirmed nothing and has said nothing at all about the map image, which the fan mapping community disputes. Some of it was later matched by official footage, notably the six-star wanted level, and our gameplay features page now lists those parts as confirmed with Rockstar-side sources. The rest stays rumour-tier.

GTA 6 generates a flood of "news" daily, and most of it is recycled speculation. By keeping confirmed announcements and rumours in physically separate sections, this page lets you trust the timeline and still see what the community is talking about, without one contaminating the other.
